Cetacean Season 2015

Homeward Romp (Nov 29, 2015)

With lots of paperwork regarding our return home crossing the Masters’ desk

and general shipboard preparations including regular inside/outside

cleaning, sorting of equipment and crew packing, Whale Song is quitely

abuzz.

Preparing for being “stripped to coastal” by AQIS, means that we have been

eating as much as possible of our fresh fruit and veggies and other items of

interest since leaving the Cocos Keeling Islands.  I have been making major

lunches and dinners (not that we don’t usually) but with just 5 on board, it

is a concerted effort.  Although, Sam the garberator without compteting with

Simon, our other garberator, is making a go of it.  Now I am cooking 3-4

extra meals to freeze, alongside our regular meals.  It’s all go in the

galley!

As our over 7 week voyage comes to an end, the land lures us in.  The crew

plans journeys across the sea homeward, Resty to the Philippines and WA

surfing adventures for Sam and Cottesloe-time for Dale. Another ocean romp

over for our stalwart crew!  We have started thinking of things we’d like to do.

For me, the first priority is getting our girls and Skipper all back

together.  Next is catching up with our lovely Perth friends and then down

the list we note going to the movies and visiting favourite cafes in

Fremantle.  I know I do not want to go grocery shopping – I certainly have not

missed 7 weeks without pushing grocery carts!

Nothing doing cetacean-wise today.  Heading towards the Naturaliste Plateau

we are hopeful of some whale action.

Very happy here but getting ready for bear hugs from Tas and lots of giggles

and laughs with Micah!  Skipper will lick us to death – not sure how to

prepare for this!
