Finishing a busy day observing whales with sunset at sea, is my favourite aspect of life on the ocean. The colours are intense, the clouds enhance or sometimes ruin the daily event but either way, it’s a waiting game. Watching and waiting as the sun, an orange ball appears to drop towards the horizon. And then, in a flash, often a green flash, it’s all over… Luckily, we rotate on this ball called Earth, and daylight returns 10 or so hours later giving us another day to look for whales.
