Lagoon Bliss (Nov 10, 2015)
It was early, very early. The tropical sunlight had my eyes popping open at 0523… well it was daylight in the lagoon. A pale, pink sky rested around the puffy cumulus. I am certain this is a different sort of pink – like these are different sort of blues. I feel as though we are travelling through the scenery on an old Hawaiian shirt, silhouetted palm trees and stunning lagoons. This is life imitating art, imitating life.
Moving out of the lagoon and offshore for some track line surveys we returned to the lagoon for lunch. Again, my mind was blown with the beautiful clear water.
I love the greens, blues and purples in the water surrounded by the varying tones indigo in the sky overhead. Scattered cumulus in the sky today, made for spectacular photographic opportunities – like a need an excuse! Oh yes, I am on cloud appreciation patrol today!
Wow, wow and wow! I am waxing less lyrical than ever, since the blue is blowing me away. Sam’s report from Direction Island was ‘Best beach ever!’ I shall look forward to making a report too. Tomorrow we shall spend some time in the lagoon, I fear I may be speechless.
