Anchoring at Darling Road at 0210 on Feb 07, 2013, once again we are in a beautiful anchorage inside Jervis Bay.  Today we are making final arrangements for exercises over the next week, empty sonobuoys are off-loaded and equipment set up by Rodney and Chris from L-3.  Inday and I go through photos (sorting and captioning), logs are written and general organising completed.  After lunch of vegetarian quiche, (where are the veggos now?), salads and gingerbread cake, a quick phone call from Scotty indicates “Dolphins on the starboard bow!”   Quickly Inday and I race forward with cameras to see what is happening.   Inside the harbour at HMAS Creswell, a pod of 6-8 bottlenose dolphins is circling near our bow!  The cameras click accompanied by excited barking (is there any other barking?), Skipper perches half-way out of the starboard skupper determined to get as close as he can to the animals just below him!  It is really lovely to see them right here and right then!  A nice marine mammal fix after our week in the city seeing two-legged wildlife!
