Blue Whale Season 2015

Each whale is unique.  

In the fading evening light two parallel lines on the left blowhole caught my eye.  Every whale is an individual.  This is the basis behind cetacean photo-identification – by photographing individuals and counting the number of resights (animals seen again within and between years), the size of the population can be estimated.
